The International Affairs Cell (IAC) at Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology plays a significant role in promoting global scientific cooperation, academic partnerships, and international research collaborations in the field of biotechnology and allied sciences. Established to strengthen the Council’s international outreach and institutional networking, the Cell serves as a dedicated platform for facilitating collaborations with universities, research institutions, industries, and scientific organizations across the globe.

The Cell actively supports the development and implementation of international collaborative research projects, scientific exchange programs, joint workshops, conferences, training programmes, and technology transfer initiatives aimed at advancing biotechnology research and innovation in the State of Uttarakhand. It also facilitates interaction between national and international experts, enabling knowledge exchange, capacity building, and exposure to emerging scientific advancements and global best practices.

In addition, the International Cell provides guidance and coordination support for international partnerships, Memorandam of Understanding (MoUs), fellowship opportunities, internships, and collaborative academic activities involving researchers, scientists, startups, and institutions associated with the Council. The Cell also assists in promoting participation in international funding programmes and multilateral scientific initiatives.

Through these activities, the International Cell enhances the global visibility and scientific engagement of Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology while contributing to the development of a vibrant, collaborative, and innovation-driven biotechnology ecosystem in the State.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome the global scientific and academic community to Uttarakhand Council for Biotechnology. In today’s interconnected world, international collaboration is essential for advancing research, innovation, and sustainable development.

The International Affairs Cell (IAC) at UCB is dedicated to strengthening global partnerships, promoting collaborative research, facilitating scientific exchange, and fostering capacity building in biotechnology and allied sciences. Through strategic collaborations with reputed international institutions including St. Petersburg State University of Veterinary Medicine, Russia (2025), University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, Romania (2022), and The University of British Columbia, Canada (2015), the Cell aims to promote knowledge sharing, innovation, and technology advancement.

We also encourages and facilitates participation of students, researchers, and scientists in international training programmes, collaborative research activities, academic exchanges, and advanced scientific exposure visits abroad to enhance research capacity and global scientific engagement.
